Agent of Dominik Kruzliak claims Everton asked about availability

The Slovakian played against Everton in the Europa League back in 2017.

Everton have reportedly shown interest in a talented Slovakian defender, who could be an absolute bargain considering his release clause.

That is according to the agent of DAC Dunajska Streda centre-back Dominik Kruzliak.

Kruzliak, who is yet to make his official debut for the Slovakian national team, caught the eye this season with his performances for DAC, including four appearances in Europa League qualifying.

DAC eventually came up short in their bid to make the group stage, losing to Atromitos after knocking out the Polish side Cracovia in the previous round.

He has also played European football before with his previous club, MFK Ruzomberok. In fact, he featured against Everton in two qualifying matches back in 2017.

His performances in those fixtures reportedly caught the eye of Everton. The 23-year-old’s agent Michal Holescak told Italian site TuttoMercatoWeb this week that Everton and Serie A side Atalanta had both made contact regarding his availability after his impressive displays.

“He is a modern player, a centre-back with great athletic qualities. He has an excellent mentality, he is twenty three years old but already a lot of experience. He has long been the captain of the teams where he played, he has over 150 games already played among the pros, also in the Europa League, Under 21 and also in the National A.

“Since we are talking about Italy, I can say that there was a strong interest from Atalanta and also from Everton after the Europa League match. He has a clause of seven hundred thousand euros (£670,000), we expect him to move in the next two months.”

Of course, this could simply be the player’s agent trying to drum up some interest in his client ahead of a difficult transfer window.

It is also not clear if Holescak is referring to those previous appearances against Everton, in which Kruzliak did impress, or the more recent ones. Indeed, it could be Everton have been tracking him since 2017.

But Kruzliak is clearly a talented player who is still young enough to continue growing.

Perhaps he is the next Martin Skrtel, which would then leave Everton in the hunt for a potential bargain.

Time will tell if Everton ever do follow up on this reported interest.
