The venue paid heartfelt tributes online

He was described by his colleagues as an 'inspiration' and someone who 'commanded great respect'.

Paying tribute, post on Bier Halle's Facebook page read: "It is with great sadness that we announce we lost one of our longest serving staff members to covid-19 this week.

"Teofilo Ituralde or ‘Teo’ was an integral part of our kitchen team and had been apart of our Bier Halle family for over 10 years.

"At work he commanded great respect and was an inspiration to his colleagues.

"2 years ago he had a bypass surgery but as soon as he was fit he was straight back to work, this is why it has been such a shock that such a strong willed person could succumb to this awful virus."

It added: "The dangers are still very real and more than ever we have to do everything in our power to keep the infection rate down.

"RIP Teo, we love you and miss you always. Stay safe! “It’ll all end in Bier’s!” BH Team x"

More tributes flowed in for Teo.

One person wrote: "Such sad news. All our thoughts and prayers to his family at this terrible time"

Another wrote: " Another angel in the sky we salute you"
