Former Maharashtra CM And Current Aghadi Minister Ashok Chavan Tests Positive For Covid-19

Maharashtra PWD Minister and former state chief minister Ashok Chavan is reported to have tested Covid-19 positive, party sources said here late on Sunday.

The Congress leader’s condition has been described as asymptomatic and he is under treatment in Nanded, his home town.

He is the second Cabinet Minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government to test positive after Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad was diagnosed last month. After nearly a month's treatment, Awhad was cured and discharged.

As per reports, Chavan was travelling between Nanded and Mumbai recently and had tested positive a few days earlier.

Maharashtra currently leads the state wise tally with the maximum number of Coronavirus cases in the country at 50,231 with 3,041 new cases emerging on Sunday (25 May).
