Karnataka COVID-19 Tracker: 69 new cases reported on Monday; state tally climbs to 2,158
by Bangalore MirrorKarnataka reported 69 fresh cases of coronavirus on Monday, taking the state tally to 2,158. So far, 680 people have been cured and discharged while 43 succumbed to the virus, informed the state health department.
Out of the 69 cases, 51 are returnees from Maharashtra.
The state recorded one coronavirus death today. A 55-years-old woman from Bengaluru Rural, who had a history of SARI, succumbed to the infection. She was admitted to a designated hospital on May 19 and died due to ARDS on May 24.
Out of the 69 cases, 16 are from Udupi, 15 are from Yadagiri, 14 are from Kalaburagi, 6 are from Bengaluru Urban, and 2 cases are reported from Mandya.
Two patients from Udupi who tested positive have a travel history to UAE. Also, a 40-year-old man from Bidar who has tested positive has an international travel history to Muscat. He is currently under observation at a designated hospital in Bengaluru Urban. A 25-year-old man from Bengaluru Urban who tested positive has an international travel history to the UK. He is currently under observation at a designated Hospital in Bengaluru Urban.
Meanwhile, a two-year-old boy from Marasandra has now tested positive. His family had returned from Tamil Nadu. With this, the first Ramanagara district, which had been a green zone until now, reported its first case. So far, 29 out of the 30 districts have COVID-19 cases and Chamarajanagar district is the only district in the green zone now.
Also, the state has at least 12 child covid-19 patients below 10 years of age as on Monday.
