AFC Wulfrunians have been filling their ground with cut-outs.

AFC Wulfrunians a cut above the rest!

AFC Wulfrunians have started filling their main stand with cardboard cutouts to help raise cash for the NHS heroes fighting against coronavirus.

The Midland Premier outfit – taking inspiration from German side Borussia Monchengladbach – want to fill all 450 seats at the CKW Stadium in Castlecroft.

Monchengladbach came up with the idea while they play games behind-closed-doors, and Wulfrunians, even though their term was deemed null and void, are offering cutouts at £22 per head – £5 going to the NHS.

The first lot are in place and committee member Dave Rowley said: “A nice touch was from John Woodward, who had cutouts of his recently-deceased father and late father-in-law – together on the front row.”

There are plans to a host a special NHS game next season to hand over the money. Each subscriber will get their name and photo in the club’s programme and social media outlets. Anyone wishing to order a cutout should call Rowley on 07951 731076.
