2 men jailed for selling fake Q-pass in Bulacan
by Alfred DalizonTWO men selling fake quarantine pass in Bulacan were arrested by the local police in an entrapment operation in Malolos City shortly before noon Sunday, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe said.
The official identified the suspects as Roberto Sacdalan Jr., a 41-year old businessman and Virgilio Escano,40, a construction worker. Both are residents of Barangay Mojon in Malolos City.
According to Cajipe, the two were placed under arrest after they conspired to sell fake quarantine passes to an undercover officer of the Malolos City Police Station in Sitio Kabyawan in Bgy. Mojon at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
The Bulacan police director said that prior to the conduct of the sting, the Malolos City police headed by Lieutenant Col. Jacqueline Puapo got an information that Sacdalan was reproducing and selling fake quarantine passes in Bgy. Mojon for P40 each.
A poseur later managed to buy the bogus pass from the suspect. Cajipe saidSacdalan yielded the fake identification papers and the marked money paid to him by the undercover officer.
On the other hand, Escano was arrested after he turned out to be the man ordered by Sacdalan to manufacture the fake quarantine passes.
Recovered from the possession of the suspects were a laminator machine, a desktop computer, a printer, a paper cutter and two marked P20 bills paid to Sacdalan by the agent.
