Ally McCoist recalls the Rangers tattoo prank that left Ian Durrant with a painful Superman memento
The former Ibrox favourite drew the short straw on an end-of-season trip back in the 90s.
by Liam Bryce, https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/authors/liam-bryce/Ally McCoist has revealed how the Rangers squad once tricked Ian Durrant into getting a Superman tattoo.
The Ibrox legend recalled his "wee buddy" squirming in pain while the rest of his team-mates watched on during an end-of-season trip abroad.
Durrant ended up in the chair after drawing the short straw and opted for the iconic superhero's logo.
But, just as his ordeal was coming to an end, McCoist and the rest of the hugely successful 90s squad had a sudden change of heart.
"We decided, right, we're all going to get a tattoo," he told talkSPORT.

"There's about seven of us and we drew straws to see who was going first.
"And it was wee Durrant, my wee buddy, my wee room partner. He's decided he's going to get the Superman logo.
"So he's got this Superman logo on his right arm. He's been in agony getting this tattoo.
"And just as the boy was putting the finishing touches to it, the other six of us went: 'Ah, we've kinda gone off the idea, wee man.'"
McCoist and Durrant spent 13 years together at Rangers before the pair moved to Kilmarnock in 1998.
They later reunited at Ibrox as part of Walter Smith 's coaching staff when he returned for a second spell as manager.
