AHEAD of four other Metro Manila cities, the Quezon City government has reported complete the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Special Amelioration Program (SAP) distribution as of May 20.

Taguig’s SAP distribution is 99.39%  and Makati is 84.82% completed.

The local governments of Marikina and Caloocan have submitted partial liquidation report.

The Quezon City announced that they have completed SAP payout to 377,584 qualified households.

With P3.020 billion SAP amount to be distributed, QC has the biggest amount, followed by Manila with less than half of the amount at P1.485 billion.

Mayor Joy Belmonte said qualified QC residents who were excluded from the initial list of recipients of the national government’s cash aid will be given P4,000 separate financial assistance with the recent approval of the P1.9 billion second and third supplemental budget for 2020.

The P4,000 cash assistance from the city government for those excluded from the initial list is half of the P8,000 provided under the SAP for persons whose livelihoods were affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Belmonte’s administration requested for 600,000 beneficiaries for DSWD-SAP but the fund provided by the national government can only accommodate 377,584 beneficiaries.

Aside from financial assistance, QC has provided more than P4 million food packs to their residents.
