State witness in Netanyahu case summoned for clarification - Inside Israel
Shlomo Filber, state witness in Case 4000, was summoned by the police last month to confirm a note was written by him.
by Arutz Sheva StaffAttorney Micha Fetman, one of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's attorneys, said on Sunday in the first hearing in Netanyahu's trial that Shlomo Filber, the state witness in Case 4000, was summoned to the offices of the Lahav 433 unit of the Israel Police last month.
Filber’s attorney, Yuval Nachmani, told Channel 12 News that Filber was in the police unit's offices on April 3, not for the purpose of giving evidence but rather to clarify why a record found and written in his handwriting is related to Case 4000.
Nachmani clarified that the police also asked Filber to come over to make sure the note was his and in his handwriting.
Meanwhile, Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin criticized the judicial system in an interview with Channel 12 News on Sunday, saying, "Israeli citizens need to know everything. It is time for transparency, for things to be on the table and not hidden in safes and documents that disappear.”
"It is the interest first and foremost of someone who says the judicial system is functioning properly to prove that it is indeed doing that," Levin added.
