5-year-old boy travels alone from Delhi to Bengaluru as flight operations begin, meets mother after 3 months

A five-year-old kid travelled alone from Delhi to Bengaluru in Karnataka as the Indian skies opened for domestic passenger flights from Monday morning two months after a gap of two months.

As the flights resumed, many travelled to meet their near and dear ones. Five-year-old Vihaan Sharma is one of them. The flight operations were halted across the country to stop the spread of coronavirus cases in India.

Vihaan Sharma, who was stuck in Delhi following the coronavirus-induced lockdown, arrived in Bengaluru on Monday, nearly after three months.

He travelled as a special category passenger on Delhi-Bengaluru flight and met his mother at Kempegowda International Airport.

His mother said, "My five-year-old son Vihaan Sharma has travelled alone from Delhi. He has come back to Bengaluru after 3 months."

Approximately 60 flight departures and 54 arrivals are scheduled at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Monday as the flight operations resumed. Approximately. So far, five flights have arrived at the airport till 9 am.

Coronavirus cases in India recorded its highest-ever spike in the number of cases for the fourth consecutive day on Monday morning with 6,977 new infections reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll in the country has also climbed by 154, taking the number of casualties to 4,021.
