NZ PM Jacinda Ardern Continues Interview Despite 5.8M Earthquake, Twitter Calls Her ‘Unshakable’

From introducing a well-being budget focussing on happiness to successfully eliminating the coronavirus in her country, she has proved time and again that she can handle just about everything, even a tremor.
According to the NZ Herald, at 7:53 a.m. local time, she was speaking to Ryan Bridge of ‘The AM Show’ through video call when a 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit the Parliament Buildings in Wellington (known as the beehive) where she was present. She remained calm and after 30 seconds resumed the interview unfazed.
Sky News quoted her saying,
“We’re just having an earthquake here, Ryan. Quite a decent shake here if you see things moving behind me. The beehive moves a little more than most.”
She dismissed the host’s concerns by adding,
“Yes, no, it’s just stopped. No, we’re fine, I’m not under any hanging lights and I look like I’m in a structurally sound place.”
People lauded her ability to remain cool during unexpected circumstances and wondered if she could be cloned so that other countries could also elect her as their leader.
India Today reports that the country has been nicknamed the “Shaky Isles” as it experiences over 15,000 earthquakes a year. In this particular one, no casualties or damage have been reported yet.
