Samarès Manor gardens to reopen

THE gardens at Samarès Manor are due to reopen today, with measures for social-distancing in place.

And the site’s café, Barrow at the Manor, has temporarily moved to the car park to allow people to sit outside to eat and order takeaways and picnics that can be taken into the gardens.

A maximum of 100 people are allowed in the gardens at any one time, with entry limited to members or those who sign up to be members.

Entry is on a first-come first-served basis, with the site open from 10am to 3pm seven days a week.

Managing director Caryl Kemp said they were looking forward to welcoming people back to the gardens.

‘We have done eight weeks now of deliveries and opening the plant centre and it will just be so lovely to see everybody back – it has been very quiet!

‘The gardens are very tranquil and I think 100 people can easily lose themselves without tripping over one another.’

The reopening has also given the attraction a chance to show off its new maps, which have been created by Jersey illustrator Lauren Radley.
