The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Duro Kuteyi called on Nigerians to embrace daily consumption of the Hyfiba meals, especially during the pandemic to boost their immune system.
He said: “The product is made from sorghum and soyabean. Sorghum has many health benefits. It’s a non-wheat grain that offers a dietary option to people with celiac disease, may help control diabetes, improve digestive health, among other benefits.
“According to the USDA National Nutrient Database, sorghum is a powerhouse of nutrients. When included in the diet, it can provide nearly half of the daily required protein, a significant amount of dietary fiber, and B-vitamins vitamins like niacin, riboflavin, and thiamin, as well as high levels of magnesium, iron, copper, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium.”
While speaking on its digestive health potential, Kuteyi said sorghum is one of the best foods for dietary fibre, adding that a cup of its grains contains almost 13 grams of dietary fibre.
He explained: “This means that your digestive tract keeps food moving along smoothly, preventing cramping, bloating, constipation, stomach aches, excess gas, and diarrhoea.
“Sorghum has anticancer potential, has complex carbohydrates to manage diabetes, has gluten-free grain option, improves bone health, increases circulation, and contains energy boosting nutrients.”
