BE’s Greatest MMA Fight of All Time Tournament - FINALS: #1 Lawler vs. MacDonald 2 VS. #1 Henderson vs. Shogun 1

by

After starting off with 32 epic MMA fights, it is finally time to for the last two remaining bouts to square off in our BE’s BADDEST Tournament Series to figure out what is the single Greatest MMA Fight to Watch of All Time—that one bout to watch before the world ends. Making it to the finals is the red corner’s #1 ranked, Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald 2, and the blue corner’s #1 seed, Dan Henderson vs. Shogun Rua 1. That’s right, after all of these tournament matchups and upsets along the way, it all comes down to the two number-one seeds. It’s almost as if Bloody Elbow’s hardcore MMA audience knew all along.

Before we get to the voting, let’s take a look at our third place matchup, where the red corner’s #2 seed, Robbie Lawler vs. Carlos Condit, went heads up with the blue corner’s #2 ranked, Mark Hunt vs. Bigfoot Silva 1. Winning with a score of 18-11, #2 Lawler vs. Condit is officially the 3rd Greatest MMA Fight to Watch of All Time!

Now let’s get to today’s bout and figure out who takes first place and who takes second. Voting will take place all week long and the results will be tallied this Friday (May 29th).

Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald 2 was a fantastic scrap. Rory’s nose. Robbie’s lip. Momentum swings with a fifth round finish. Both men showed off tons of heart and toughness for days. What a wild welterweight title fight this was!

Dan Henderson vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua 1 was an epic five-round war between two legends of the sport! There were lots of momentum swings in this one. Both men scrambled into dominant positions and rocked the other man, both men had to show off toughness and fight back, and both men had to dig deep and keep going for 25 hellacious minutes. There is no question that these two men left it all in the Octagon that night.
