Nizamabad: Muslims celebrated Eid-ul-fitr in a law-key affair on Monday and offered prayers at their homes due to Covid-19 pandemic. Muslims avoided congregations and mass prayers at Idgahs and mosques across the erstwhile Nizamabad district and celebrated the festival in strict adherence to lockdown norms.

Due to the lockdown, the government had appealed to people to avoid large gatherings and mass congregations at religious places. Muslims across the district celebrated Ramzan avoiding exchanging of physical greeting programmes like ‘Alai Balai’ with their friends and relatives. Many termed it as the rarest occasions, where the Ramzan celebrations were toned down to the minimal with many confining themselves to their homes. They said despite the low-key celebrations, this Ramzan will remain memorable for them.
