Errabelli asks farmers to go for regulated cropping pattern

Stating that the cropping plan was conceived as per the suggestions of the agriculture scientists, Errabelli said that the farmers must cultivate crops that are in demand.

Jangaon/Warangal Urban: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao has advised the farmers to go for the regulated cropping pattern as suggested by the government to make profits out of farming, and said that the State government conducted a comprehensive survey on types of soil, soil quality, crops and crops that get high yield and demand for the crops season wise.

Addressing an awareness meeting on regulated cropping pattern in Jangaon on Sunday, the Minister said that the government had rolled out regulated cropping pattern method and plan after much deliberations. Stating that the cropping plan was conceived as per the suggestions of the agriculture scientists, he said that the farmers must cultivate crops that are in demand.

“Farmers in Jangaon district can cultivate paddy, cotton, maize and redgram for the vanakalam season. The estimated land to be covered under crops for Vanakalam season is 2.90 lakh acres. While 89,000 acres would get irrigation through Devadula canal, 14,000 acres would get water from the tanks and ponds,” he added.

Errabelli said that the government would offer 65 per cent subsidy on the seeds of green manure (Jeeluga and Janumu) for 12,000 acres. He said that each constituency would get godown and vegetable market for each mandal. Referring to criticism by the Opposition parties and leaders, he said that there is no honesty in their words, and they did not have moral right to criticise Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao

Minister of Prohibition & Excise, Sports & Youth services V Srinivas Goud has come down heavily on the Opposition parties for their criticism on the TRS government. He also added that the farmers must follow the guidelines of the government.

Rythu Badhu Samithi president Palla Rajeshwar Reddy has alleged that the drawing capacity of the Pothireddypadu head regulator was indeed increased during Congress and TDP regimes and blamed former irrigation minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah for the present situation.

Meanwhile, Minister Errabelli has also participated in the meeting on regulated cropping pattern in Warangal. He called upon the farmers to chase away the Opposition leaders who are misleading the farmers on regulated cropping pattern.
