Massey University which was established in 1927 is the only university in New Zealand which offers a degree in Aviation, Dispute Resolution, Veterinary Medicine and Nanoscience.

Massey’s veterinary school is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association and is recognised in the United States, Australia, Canada, and Britain; its agriculture programme is ranked highest in New Zealand and is ranked 19th in Quacquarelli Symonds’ (QS) world university subject rankings. 

Massey’s Bachelor of Aviation (Air Transport Pilot), an internationally recognised and accredited qualification, is the first non-engineering degree to be recognised by the Royal Aeronautical Society (1998) and has ISO9001-2000 accreditation.

Massey University has approximately 30,883 national and international students.  Each year Massey University welcomes around 5,000 international students from over 100 countries; the student body has a high percentage of international students.

Massey University offers a range of support services for students. Each campus has support specifically for international students. The university’s Academic Advice team assists Massey students in choosing the right programmes for their career, and helps them make informed decisions. In addition, counselling and health services are on offer to maintain the wellbeing of students.  

Massey also offers a number of programmes at postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma and master’s degree level.  Massey University has a global reputation for its research practices, results, and innovation, which are applied to the postgraduate programmes of study. The postgraduate programmes are taught across the university’s five academic colleges.
