TTD move to sell properties kept in abeyance by AP government

Till the finalisation of the reexamination exercise, the proposed disposal of 50 properties by the TTD is kept in abeyance, a Government order in this regard said.

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has on Monday kept in abeyance a move by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to sell 50 properties as per its resolution dated January 30, 2016.

According to a government order issued on Monday, the Government has asked the TTD to re-examine the issue in consultation with different stakeholders like religious elders, opinion makers, section of devotees etc. to ascertain whether these properties can be used by the TTD for construction of temples, dharma pracharam and other religious activities”.

Till the finalisation of the reexamination exercise, the proposed disposal of 50 properties by the TTD is kept in abeyance, the order said. The TTD Executive Officer was asked to take necessary action and submit compliance report to the Government on the instructions.

The decision was apparently taken in view of the sentiments of the devotees. Interestingly, the decision to sell the properties at 50 places in different states was taken by the TTD in 2016.
