Covid: Bandi Sanjay writes to CM, seeks white paper on Centre’s funds
He said the Narendra Modi government had so far released Rs 224 crore under NDRF, Rs 216 crore for medical equipment and first installment of Rs 982 crore under devolution funds to the State
by TelanganaTodayHyderabad: State BJP president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar wrote a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao asking him to publish a white paper on the funds released by the Centre for containing Covid-19 and the details of expenditure by the State government. He said the Narendra Modi government had so far released Rs 224 crore under NDRF, Rs 216 crore for medical equipment and first installment of Rs 982 crore under devolution funds to the State.
“The State government must come out clean on the funds the Centre has released and how much it has spent so far. On the other hand several people and institutions donated funds to CMRF. How much is the quantum of donation so far, and how much is spent,” he said. On the other hand Rs 3,100 crore had been released by the Prime Minister from the PM CARES for manufacture of ventilators, for migrant labour and development of a vaccine, he said.
He sought clarity on the money spent by the State government for transportation of migrant workers from the State to their native places. “Did the money spent come from the Centre or from the State’s exchequer,” he questioned. The BJP State president said that the Centre had been depositing financial assistance under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to farmers without fail while the farmers in the State were not receiving Rythu Bandhu assistance regularly. He asked the government whether it had plans to discontinue the scheme.
The MP also said that the BJP was opposing the government’s proposed move to discontinue Rythu Bandhu benefits to farmers who fail to implement the government suggested farming pattern.
