Every smartphone company nowadays is going into the Smart TV universe and Realme is following suit. The company unveiled its first TV in two sizes - 32” (80 cm) and 43” (108 cm). It comes with bezel-less LED display, Android TV, Dolby speakers, and a quad-core CPU, and all these features come at the low price tag of INR12,999 ($170).

The TV borrowed the Chroma Boost function from the smartphones, and now it improves artificially brightness, color, contrast, purity, and clarity, reaching up to 400 nits, which is an industry high at such price rate. The viewing angle is 178 degrees, which is pretty impressive for a TV that costs so low.

Realme and Mediatek partnered to create a customized chipset with quad-core CPU - there are four Cortex A53 units and Mali-470 MP3 GPU. The RAM is 1 GB, coupled with 8 GB internal storage.

In order to provide an “immersive cinema experience”, the Realme Smart TV comes with ultra-thin bezels at just 8.7 mm for the 32” TV. Inside the TV there are two pairs of speakers - one is a full-range speaker, the other is a tweeter. Both are placed symmetrically and bring 24W Dolby Audio. Realme also introduced a 100W Soundbar, but without revealing when would it be available for purchase.

One of the proudest moments for Realme is that the product comes with Android TV and Google Assistant. This means there is YouTube, Netflix, Prime, LiveTV, Disney+ and whatever else you need for online content and video - the Play Store has over 5,000 apps.

The Assistant is activated with a button on the remote and you can ask questions, set reminders, and operate the TV hands-free. The Realme Smart TV also has Chromecast built-in, so it is now easier to look at photos and videos on your phone at a bigger screen.

Connectivity-wise, there are three HDMI ports, two USBs, one LAN port, and one tuner port. Wi-Fi is only on 2.4 GHz, while Bluetooth support is up to 5.0. Madhav Sheth, Realme India CEO, revealed the Smart TV will be entirely made in India, which is another way to lower the price without cutting features.

The INR12,999 ($170) price tag is for the 32” Smart TV. The 43” is priced at INR21,999, which is under $300 - $289 to be precise. Realme will launch the products on June 2 and will offer free shipping from its online store.
