DaBaby Rocks the Australian Chart For First No. 1

DaBaby is in charge of Australia's singles chart this week as “Rockstar” (Interscope/Universal) featuring Roddy Ricch climbs to the summit for the first time.

“Rockstar” rises 2-1 in its fifth week on the ARIA Singles Chart, giving the U.S. rappers their first No. 1 in the land Down Under.

Meanwhile, SAINt JHN’s six-week reign comes to an end as “Roses” (Sony) slips 2-1, while The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” (Republic/Universal) dips 2-3, Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s “Stuck With U” (Universal) is down 3-4 and Doja Cat’s “Say So” (RCA/Sony) is unchanged at No. 5.

The highest new debut belongs to Katy Perry whose “Daisies” (Capitol/EMI) starts at No. 37. After bagging three top 50 entries in 2019, it’s Perry first appearance on the chart in 2020.

The U.S. pop star has been a virtual guest on TV screens in these parts. She appeared as a guest judge on Channel Ten’s Masterchef last week, a spot filmed while she made a promotional trip to Australia in March.

Over on the ARIA Albums Chart, Aussie blues rock outfit The Teskey Brothers earn their first No. 1 with Live At The Forum (Ivy League/Universal), cut in November 2019 during a four-night stand at The Forum, in their hometown Melbourne.

The album features tracks from their previous two albums Half Mile Harvest (No. 18 in June 2017) and Run Home Slow (No. 2 in August 2019) and a cover of John Lennon’s “Jealous Guy.”

Chicago rapper Polo G scores his first top 10 as The Goat (Columbia/Sony) opens its account at No. 10.

Future bags a new solo career high with his Billboard 200 chart leader High Off Life (Sony). It’s new at No. 15 on the ARIA chart. Also, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit score a career best with Reunions (Universal), new at No. 19, while Charli XCX’s How I'm Feeling Now (Atlantic/Warner), which she recorded in self-isolation, starts at No. 37.
