UG, PG final exams in Gujarat from June 25

The state government has decided to go ahead with pending examinations as well as commencement of the new academic year for universities and colleges in Gujarat. As per UGC guidelines, terminal/ final semester/ annual exams for under-graduate and post-graduate courses will begin from June 25. These courses include BA, MA, MCom, BTech, BPharm, BSc, MSc etc. During the exams, rules pertaining to wearing masks, using hand sanitiser and maintaining social distance will have to followed strictly.

The examination will be two-hour-long, instead of usual three hours and may be conducted in multiple shifts if need be. As per the release by the education ministry, if the situation does not normalise and maintaining social distance becomes difficult, students of semester 2,4,6 can be given 50% on the basis of internal marks while the remaining 50% will be on the basis of the score in previous semester. This format will be called merit-based progression.

Barring ACPC admissions, other admissions will kickstart from June 15. Under this, 90% of the seats may be filled up, while admissions to the remaining 10% seats will be done in August. Online academic session for semester 3,5 and 7 will begin from June 21. Semester 1 will begin from August 1. GUJCET will be held on July 30.
