Fede Valverde, Uruguayan midfielder for Real Madrid, was pleased to feel the world of football moving forward and approaching its return to the competition. The footballer made it clear that the goal is "to be champions". As for the Champions League, he hopes that Real Madrid will be able to beat City and qualify for the semi final.

At Real Madrid, as with all Spanish teams, everyone is keen to get back on the pitch. Fede Valverde is looking forward to the return of LaLiga and the end of the competition on the pitch.

"I'm really looking forward to representing this shirt again and showing why we're here. We are fighting for the goal of being champions," Valverde made clear in his words to the Madrid club's media, setting the challenge of winning some great titles this season. "We have to keep on training hard for the rest of the season and hopefully win La Liga," he added.

For this purpose the Uruguayan midfielder emphasized that they must "be professional, feed themselves properly and take good care of themselves" while they train as they can, until now in small groups and already with the possibility of doing it in groups of up to 14 footballers.

His message of unity brought the world of football into the face of the pandemic. "This is something we are doing together, not only the team but the whole country, supporting us and going forward with a lot of strength. The first thing is to be united."

He is happy to be back working in the Real Madrid training ground. "It's great to see our teammates again and to enjoy the sports city, to be able to share talks and training sessions with everyone. We missed each other very much and we appreciate being able to advance from one phase to the next".

Valverde did not rule out the possibility of the Champions League being played in August, or the option of going through the play-offs in Manchester against Pep Guardiola's City. "There is always the desire and joy to return to that game and fight for that revenge and being able to qualify. The desire to go for everything never lacks in this team," he said.
