Chiellini's explanation to the Champions League loss against Madrid

In his autobiography, the Juventus CB didn't forget about the clear defeat in the 2017 Champions League final against Cardiff.

Giorgio Chiellini's autobiography is giving a lot. The Italian centre-back left virtually nothing about his career out of it and passages of it continue to be revealed.

On this occasion, the Juventus player spoke about the final loss against Real Madrid in Cardiff. "There has been a lot of talk about the famous Cardiff Champions League final loss to Real Madrid. And nothing strange happened. We were just tired", he said.

Many had pointed to a row in the dressing room that, according to what the defender published, didn't take place.

"Why would we have stopped fighting after drawing level? For what? We weren't losing 3-0 and even then it wouldn't have made sense," he explained.

"We were exhausted after the first half, Mandzukic could hardly walk and Pjanic, the same. Both were treated for their knees while the manager talked. We were out of breath. We were drawing 1-1, but then it ended dramatically", Chiellini continued.

"Nothing happened at halftime. We didn't have a row. We lost because we were too tired. These finals always come too late for us", the Italian international concluded.
