Thirty six more detected Covid-19 positive in C’garh

Chhattisgarh continued to see a spike in the number of coronavirus cases on Sunday, with 36 more patients detected across the state.

"With the 36, the tally of active cases in the state increased to 185.  Three patients have been discharged after recovery," a press release from the Health Department said.

The new patients detected on Sunday are from Bilapsur (19), Balrampur (1), Baloda Bazar (4), Koria (2 each), and Bemetara, Sarguja, Gaurella Pendra Marwahi (GPM), Mungeli (1) and Raigarh (1 each), it said. 

Of the total 185 active patients, 48 are taking   treatment at AIIMS, Raipur, 35 at Mana Covid-19 Hospital, Raipur, 24 in Bilaspur Covid-19 Hospital, 11 in Ambikapur Covid-19 Hospital, 10 in Raigarh Covid-19 Hospital and 21 in Rajnandgaon Covid-19 Hospital, the statement said. 

The single biggest spike in cases for a day was on Saturday with 44 persons testing positive, including a woman junior doctor at a government hospital. On Friday, the state reported 40 coronavirus patients.

Most of the new patients are migrant    labourers who recently returned to their home     districts from different parts of the country and were kept in quarantine centres.
