Ray Parlour tells Manchester United to swap Paul Pogba for Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour admitted Manchester United would be better off selling Paul Pogba to Juventus, if ex-Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey moves in the opposite direction.

The Frenchman’s agent Mino Raiola revealed on Thursday that Pogba wouldn’t mind going back to Italy in the summer, where he feels at home.

Reports indicate that United will accept no less than £83m for the World Cup Winner, which could put off potential suitors Juve and Real Madrid.

That outlay may be made more appealing for the Italian champions if they recoup some funds sending Welshman Aaron Ramsey to Old Trafford.

Former Gunners midfielder Parlour told talkSPORT: ‘I imagine Paul Pogba will move on. Man United have got to get the best deal for the club and replace him, and use that money to bring someone else in who is hungrier and wants to play for the club.

‘We all know Pogba is a talented player and he’s won the World Cup, but he just hasn’t done it in a Man United shirt.

‘It just hasn’t worked out for him and I think Man United have just got to say, ‘okay he’s a talented player but we haven’t got the best out of him’ – so let him move on and give someone else a go.

‘Aaron Ramsey could be on his way again after just one year at Juventus – would that be a good swap deal?

‘He’s a super player. There’ll be a lot of clubs interested in him.’

Former Arsenal midfielder Ramsey has struggled to establish himself in Maurizio Sarri’s first team, starting just 12 games in Serie A for the Old Lady.

But, ex-England international Parlour is still convinced the 29-year-old still has a few more years at the highest level.

He added: ‘He’s a good age, he’s still got three or four good years ahead of him, so he would surely be on Man United’s radar.’
