Laurence Fox identifies as 'broccoli' in public spat with Jameela Jamil

Laurence Fox and Jameela Jamil are in a nasty war of words online as viral claims Jameela has Munchausen’s syndrome continue to snowball.

After getting into it with Piers Morgan on Thursday, she is now getting smoke from the controversial actor – who isn’t exactly high up in public opinion at the moment himself.

Munchausen’s syndrome is classed as a mental disorder in which a person repeatedly and deliberately acts as if they have a physical or mental illness when they are in fact not sick.

In the past, the star has been open about having congenital hearing loss and labyrinthitis, as well as hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome which causes loose joints, joint pain, stretchy skin and abnormal scar formation. She has also spoken in the past about having a nut allergy.

Jameela, 33, tweeted that the claims have ‘raised a really important conversation about how we gaslight people whose illnesses aren’t visible’.

Laurence mocked her for recently coming out as queer and claimed he now identified as a vegetable.

The 41-year-old father of two, tweeted: ‘100% this. I can’t tell you how many times people have mocked and ridiculed me for coming out as [broccoli emoji].

‘I’m unable to post pictures of me smiling before my transition as I never smiled, I was always just steaming.’

Jameela fired back: ‘Listen I’m sorry your acting career didn’t really work out. But now trying to play the role of Katie Hopkins isn’t working out for you either… her role is taken, and she’s better at it than you.’

Slipping in a bit of self promo, the Lewis actor wrote back: ‘You can catch me on the new Netflix 10 part drama #whitelines coming out in may. Written by Álex Pina, creator of “Money Heist” which was one of the most watched shows ever on the platform. I really hope you enjoy! Now go have a snickers.’

Like the song says – don’t start nothing, there won’t be nothing, Laurence.

She previously had to fend off Piers Morgan on Twitter, who joined in with the accusations that Jameela has Munchausen syndrome.

‘There is no cure for you being a pointless, boring, misogynist p***k sadly’ she shot back.

The star of The Good Place recently slammed ‘dumb internet conspiracies’ about her health.

‘First I’m lying about my sexuality, now I’m now being accused of munchausens?’ she wrote.

‘By an unhinged idiot who didn’t even realise in all her “research” that my car accident injury stories are “different” because they were about TWO SEPARATE CAR ACCIDENTS 13 years apart? You can keep it.’

The 33-year-old went on to add to the doubters: ‘Ehlers Danlos Syndrome means always having people doubt your illness and injuries because you look okay. #edsawareness #itisntinyourhead #imsorrypeopleared*cks.’

She continued: ‘Man, if as many people spent their time and energy helping others/fighting injustice as they do dragging and slandering people on the internet the world would be in such good shape.’

‘Not afraid of you or your dumb internet conspiracy theories. Keep them coming,’ she wrote. ‘You just add to my relevance. I’m gonna keep helping people with eating disorders, and changing laws and global policies to protect kids and their mental health and there’s NOTHING you can do about it.’
