Redskins Reportedly Cut 2nd Player On Valentine’s Day

The Washington Redskins haven’t been too kind on Valentine’s Day. Management is making key roster decisions today, and unfortunately that means a few players are being released.

Earlier this Friday morning, the Redskins released Josh Norman. He had one year remaining on his contract with the team, but there was no way they’d spend $15 million on a cornerback with deteriorating skills.

Next up on the list for Washington is veteran wideout Paul Richardson. Back in 2018, he signed a five-year contract worth $40 million. After spending two seasons with the team, he’s now on his way out.

According to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo, the Redskins are going to release Richardson. It’ll be the second roster cut the front office will make on Valentine’s Day.

Washington clearly isn’t afraid to make big moves on a festive day. Ron Rivera and his crew aren’t wasting time when it comes to leaving their mark on the franchise.

Garafolo hinted at Richardson reuniting with the Seattle Seahawks. They selected him in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Richardson had 28 receptions for 245 yards and two touchdowns this past season with the Redskins.

Teams should have interest in Richardson, especially since he’s only 27 years old. His best season came in 2017 with the Seahawks, when he totaled 44 receptions for 703 yards and six touchdowns.
