Bronx ‘cop-shooter’ Robert Williams grins in courtroom

by

Accused cop-shooter Robert Williams flashed a grin as he entered a Bronx courtroom for a brief appearance Friday — as dozens of NYPD officers glared at him.

Williams — who faces attempted-murder charges for allegedly attacking two NYPD officers in less than a day — appeared at the 3-minute hearing as a judge set a date for an arraignment on his indictment.

The 45-year-old suspect shot his family a grin after a relative proclaimed, “We Love you, Robert!” when he walked into the Bronx Supreme Court room.

Cops had filled the courtroom to show support for their injured brothers in blue, who escaped death during Williams’ alleged attacks last week.

On Feb. 8, Williams fired shots into a marked NYPD van near the corner of Simpson and Fox streets in The Bronx, grazing the neck and chin of an officer inside, authorities have said.

Fewer than 12 hours later, he opened fire at the area’s 41st Precinct station house with a .9mm SIG Sauer, striking a lieutenant in the upper left arm before running out of ammo and surrendering, police said.

Prosecutors said Friday that the indictment will be signed that day, and Williams is expected to appear in court again March 6.

His family declined comment after the hearing.
