Patricia O'Connor trial: One charge of impeding apprehension or prosecution withdrawn
by NewstalkOne of two charges faced by a man accused of impeding the apprehension or prosecution of a man on trial for murder has been withdrawn.
Keith Johnston of Avonbeg Gardens, Tallaght, Dublin 24 is one of three people facing the same charge in relation to 35-year-old Kieran Greene.
Mr Greene is accused of murdering his partner's mother Patricia O'Connor in the home they shared in Rathfarnham in May 2017.
The 61-year-old's remains were found scattered across the Wicklow and Dublin mountains.
His partner Louise and her daughter Stephanie are also on trial accused of impeding the apprehension or prosecution of Mr Greene.
Louise's ex Keith Johnston faced two counts of the same offence, but the jury was told today that one of those charges has been withdrawn.
Mr Greene's mother Joan was the final witness called on behalf of the defence today.
She said her son struggled in school and needed extra tuition for a lot of subjects. She also said he had no girfriends before Louise.
Closing speeches will get underway next week.
