Shoppers at a busy retail park watched in horror today as a vehicle plunged into the front wall of a packed store.

The accident happened at Ayr's Heathfield shopping estate shortly before midday.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the vehicle mount the walkway, crashing past barriers and into the wall of the B&M store.

Luckily, no-one was injured in the terrifying incident, which took place at 11.50am when the park was packed with shoppers.

The crash left extensive damage to the store's exterior wall, where repair teams were this afternoon working on the scene.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed they had attended the incident and that there were no reports of any injuries.
