Watch: Topless victim thrown from car trying to stop burglars stealing off-road bikes
West Mercia Police confirmed officers are investigating after the burglary
by Jordan Coussins, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/jordan-coussins/This is the moment a victim is dragged down the street as a gang of thieves steal expensive off-road motorbikes from a garage.
Shocking CCTV footage - which can be viewed above - shows two men jump out of Audi, which had been parked outside the property in Pearmain Garden, Hagley.
The gang – who were all wearing dark clothing with hoods up – managed to force open the door and grab the keys to a Renault Trafic that was blocking the door.
One of the thieves even tries, but fails, to cover the camera as they try to gain access to the garage once again.
They then try to flee the scene with two bikes, thought to be worth around £12,000, but are stopped by the victim's dad.
The shirtless man then tries to hang onto the Audi as the man speeds away from the scene – and is flung across the road.
West Mercia Police is investigating the incident, which took place at around 1.30pm on Monday, February 10, and officers continue to investigate.
A spokesman told Black Country Live: “We were called at 1.40pm on February 10 to reports of a burglary at an address on Pearmain Garden, Hagley.
“There have been no arrests made at this time, officers continue to investigate.”
The victim, Owen Palmer, has since urged anyone with information to contact police in an appeal online.
He said: “My motocross bike has been stolen today by some low lives in broad daylight. Please help me get by bike back by sharing the hell out of this. Make my bike too hot to handle.”
