An Asda petrol station has made the decision to close "as a precaution" following customers' complaints of broken down cars.
The Hunts Cross petrol station received complaints last night, February 13, of cars breaking down after filling up with the site's petrol.
One customer took to Facebook to warn others.
The customer advised others to "stay away from Hunt Cross ASDA petrol station" and claimed "They've mixed water in the petrol, we saw 2 cars broke down just outside the station."
They said: "Filled up got half way down the road and car stopped... exhaust red as nearly on fire.....It’s only a new car anyway!!! 5 cars now reported broken down!!! Beware people!!!"
The station has closed today while Asda investigates the issue.
An Asda spokesperson issued a statement to the ECHO: "We are aware of an issue at our Hunts Cross petrol station last night that is affecting a small number of customers, so we have closed the station as a precaution whilst we investigate what has happened.
"We are working with the customers who have been impacted and we would again like to apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused."
