Thieves raid Stourbridge brewery

Thieves ripped the door off a Stourbridge brewery and raided the till inside.

In the early hours of yesterday morning two men broke into the Green Duck Brewery on Rutford Road, head brewer Alex Hill said.

They raided the cash float in the till and severely damaged one of the doors and its frame.

Now a fundraising page has been launched by a customer to raise £3,500 to cover the repairs bill.

Mr Hill said: "At 3.30am yesterday morning the premises was broken into.

"Two men ripped the metal security gate off the wall and smashed the door to pieces to break in.

"They went for cash from the float of the till.

"It's the damage that wrecked the entire door frame.

"It was a challenge to get open last night, but we did it.

"A customer decided to create the fundraising page off his own back and we're incredibly grateful."
