James Carville Hits Back at Bernie Sanders After Calling Him a Hack: 'At Least I’m Not a Communist'

by

Longtime Democratic strategist and Clinton ally James Carville hit back at Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT) after he called him a "hack" during a CNN interview.

Vanity Fair contributor Peter Hamby gave a preview of the phone conversation he had with Carville, where he said that of course he's a hack, but "at least I'm not a communist."

"Last night on CNN, Bernie called me a political hack. That's exactly who the f**k I am! I am a political hack! I am not ideologue. I am not a purist. He thinks it's a pejorative. I kinda like it! At least I'm not a communist," Carville said.

The response to his quotes have made some waves on social media, with Carville himself seeming to enjoy it.

Sanders also targeted the "establishment" in the CNN interview.

"We are taking on Trump, the Republican establishment, Carville and the Democratic establishment, but at the end of the day, the grassroots movement that we are putting together of young people, of working people, of people of color, want real change," he said.
