Justin Bieber taught Jimmy Fallon how to play hockey on 'The Tonight Show'by Tommy McArdle
Canadian pop star Justin Bieber and Jimmy Fallon took to the ice in New York City on Thursday so Bieber could teach Fallon how to play hockey in a 'Tonight Show' segment — and it went about as well as you might think.
The hilarity started as soon as Bieber, a noted hockey enthusiast, taught Fallon how to put on all the padding and equipment necessary to protect himself on the ice and questioned whether Fallon knew what a hockey puck was.
“Imagine a puck, which is like, really hard… you know what a puck is, right?” he jested.
After some more banter — in which Bieber jokingly saidAlexander Nordiqueis his favorite player — Fallon finally looked ready to go in his New York Rangers uniform, while Bieber sported his custom Toronto Maple Leafs jersey. Of course, Fallon insisted he really needed to use the bathroom before they took the ice.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: St. Louis Blues' Jordan Binnington will face Justin Bieber in breakaway competition
Bieber put Fallon through a series of skating and stick-handling drills that saw the veteran comedian trip, fall, crawl and request the surprisingly skilled singerdrag him across the ice. When Fallon learned how to shoot with the backhand of his stick, he had a genius idea to pair the move with "backhanded compliments."
“Have you lost weight? You look a lot better than the last time I saw you,” Bieber joked.
“I really like your moustache," Fallon responded. "I love that it’s not quite skeevy.”
The pair then engaged in a shootout competition with the help of Rob the goaltender. Bieber showed off his arsenal of stickhandling tricks, while Fallon tried to distract the goalieby singing ‘Baby Shark,’ who even made a save while looking the other way.
Bieber’s reward for winning the competition came in the form of a private soloas he sang ‘O Canada’ while the pair rode a Zamboni around the arena.
