Castlebar 'Europe's luckiest town' after third EuroMillions jackpot win

CO Mayo town Castlebar has been named Europe's luckiest town after its third EuroMillions jackpot win and ninth EuroMillions win.

Tuesday night's €17 million jackpot winner has made contact with the National Lottery, who confirmed he winning ticket was sold in Mulroy's Londis shop.

The picturesque town now makes up 20 per cent of all Irish EuroMillions jackpot winners, with another local winner scooping the 'EuroMillions Plus' prize of €500,000 on Tuesday with a ticket was bought in Easons on Main Street.

The first Castlebar EuroMillions jackpot was won in April 2014 when a prize worth €15 million was claimed.

In July 2019, the winning EuroMillions jackpot ticket worth €29m was sold in a shop on Pound Road to a syndicate from the west of Ireland.
