The mayor and city council Thursday night voted to appoint Michael Davis as the city’s next city manager.

“Although it is hard to find a great city manager, we feel like we have found a hidden gem. Mike’s local government experience and leadership will help the city to move forward with the many important projects scheduled in our short and long-term future. On behalf of myself and City Council we welcome Mr. Davis to this new role,” Mayor Elaine Allison stated in a release.

Davis has more than 24 years of local government experience.

The Moraine City Council is expected to approve an employment agreement for Michael Davis, who has been serving in those capacities on an acting basis for nearly a year.

Chodkowski’s resignation included a $33,465.60 lump sum payment along with deferred compensation totaling $10,000, according to a separation agreement with the city. He is now an assistant city manager for Huber Heights.

Moraine City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. in council chamber of the Moraine Municipal Building, 4200 Dryden Road.
