A secret Amazon section could help you to bag a cheap iPhone, Nintendo Switch or even a TV.

The online giant has millions of items for sale and hundreds of different deal pages and discounted sections. However, one little-known section is packed full of electronics and other expensive items at knockdown prices.

Amazon has a section of the website called Renewed for refurbished and previously owned items and it could save you a fortune on big-name brands.

If you go to the Apple website a refurbished iPhone X 64GB sim-free phone in space grey is going to set you back £599. That is actually a discount of £300 according to the manufacturer.

On Amazon Renewed the same phone is currently listed as £375.

It is not just iPhones on the site. It also has Samsung Galaxy S8 handsets for £229, Apple iPad Air 2 for £269 and other electronics at knockdown prices.

Gamers can also get their hands on cheap Playstation 4 consoles and Nintendo Switch handheld consoles, as well as games, headphones and wireless controllers at discounted prices.

Other discounts include 49-inch Sharp TVs from £239, sound bars and freeview boxes.

Amazon says all of the items being sold on the Renewed section have been inspected and tested to work and look like new. They also come with a one-year guarantee.

Amazon says the criteria for selling on the site is strict. It says: "The suppliers, who may be qualified manufacturers or specialized third-party refurbishers, must meet strict criteria to be able to sell on Amazon Renewed and meet ongoing performance targets."
