Bobbi Laurence, 25, flew into a rage after being dumped by the victim and drove at her and the two children she was looking after.

He later spat blood on police officers and told them he had hepatitis C, in a catalogue of behaviour a sheriff described as “outrageous.”

Depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson told Perth Sheriff Court that the couple had been in a relationship for 18 months before the woman ended it on March 15 last year.

“She asked him to pack up and leave.”

The depute fiscal said an argument followed and she left the house with the two children.

“He got into a vehicle and drove towards them. He applied the handbrake which caused him to skid. It did not hit them, but the older child told police he was ‘within one foot’. The child was “dead scared” they were going to be hit by the car.

Laurence, who had no driving licence or insurance, shouted a warning out of the window and then drove off before being reported to police.

On October 11 he brawled with police officers as they tried to arrest him, and spat bloody saliva at two of them while claiming he had hepatitis C.

Laurence, now a prisoner at Perth, admitted eight charges including behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by driving at three people in Manse Road, Milnathort, on March 15.

As well as jailing him, Sheriff Lindsay Foulis imposed a further 12 months’ supervised release.

He also banned him from driving for 30 months.
