Crewe Alexandra are underdogs against Plymouth Argyle claims manager David Artell

Artell has made his comment even though his side are above the Pilgrims in League Two

Crewe Alexandra will be the underdogs in the League Two top-of-the-table clash against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park tomorrow, according to their manager David Artell.

That is despite the fact that the Railwaymen are in a higher position than the Pilgrims and have won their last four matches.

Crewe are second in League Two, four points better off than Argyle, although they have played one more match than Ryan Lowe's side.

Artell said: "With their resources and the players they have got they should do well, and we will go there as underdogs.

"We are higher in the table but we are underdogs because of their resources, their crowd, the fanbase they have, the players at their disposal, but that's not a problem.

"They are a big club and whenever little old Crewe rock into town we will be seen as underdogs, but we have shown we can go to big places and beat good teams before.

"There will be two good teams going head to head and we'll see how we get on."

Artell added: "I think (Ryan Lowe) has certain principles he sticks to and he plays a certain way."
