Brendan Cole says Strictly curse 'ruins lives' opening up on Kelvin and Oti rumours
The former Strictly Come Dancing pro warned that couples 'have to be careful' and Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse have a special connection
by Irishmirror.ieBrendan Cole has warned that the Strictly Come Dancing curse can "ruin lives".
The former Strictly Come Dancing had his say on rumours that something romantic is going on between the winners after pictures emerged of Kelvin and Oti heading into a hotel at 3am.
Kelvin, 36, shares two children with his wife Liz Marsland, who was reportedly left "fuming" after pictures, and later appeared in public without her wedding ring on her finger - later insisting it was for her fake tan.
Speaking on today's Lorraine, former Strictly pro Brendan warned that couples "have to be careful" but admitted Kelvin and Oti should be able to go for a drink.
He said: "You have to be careful. The thing about Strictly is you’re in a relationship with your dance partner of sorts.
"What sort of relationship that is we don’t know. Take lovely Oti and Kelvin this week. Pictured going to the hotel for the big party.
"This sort of thing ruins lives. His wife Liz, Oti’s husband, the two children. The rumours flying round around are hopefully not true.
"You do have to be careful. You create them together. Kelvin and Oti will probably be lifelong friends. They’ve been through something."
Kelvin admitted it is not like an office romance as you are close right from the start as a Strictly couple holding hands and going through something "so personal and emotional".
Brendan, who announced he was leaving Strictly two years ago on Lorraine's sofa, admitted he does still miss the show.
He said: "Of course. I will always be very grateful for Strictly. I loved my time - good and bad. I'm fond of it all.
"I miss the guys, on a Friday, the work is done, the routine won't get better. You hang out with your friends and talk how the week has gone. It feels special to be there. I miss being involved with everybody."
Revealing he is still in touch with his Strictly pals, Brendan added: "They’re good friends. it's weird seeing the new guys I don't know doing what I used to do. That's odd. But it's still lovely watching."
Brendan's new UK tour 'Show Man' is kicking off next week and is brining that personal Strictly touch to the show.
He said: "I love it. I’m very proud of it. It took a lot of work to put together. We toured it last year and brought it back this year.
