Arsenal fans react as club reportedly eye move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco
by Will ButcherArsenal are reportedly one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Isco from Real Madrid this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to put a stamp on his side in the transfer market – and Gunners fans have reacted on Twitter.
Spanish outlet El Desmarque have claimed that Arsenal fancy Isco and are weighing up a move ahead of the summer window for the Spain international. The 27-year-old’s form has dropped off this season for Zinedine Zidane’s side.
Indeed, Isco was renowned as one of the best playmakers in football. But of late, the former Malaga star has dropped off – scoring just two goals in 20 outings. During his entire Real career, he has had a hand in 102 goals – scoring 50 and creating 52.
The report claims that Arsenal are keen to bring Isco to The Emirates, with Dani Ceballos set to return to the Santiago Bernabeu. Mesut Ozil’s long-term future is also in doubt, and Isco could be brought in to replace the ex-Galactico.
Real Madrid are keen to sell Isco, given they want to fund a move for French superstar Kylian Mbappe. Arsenal are looking to take advantage but face competition from Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal fans reacted to the reported news that their club are interested in signing the fleet-footed Spanish star, who can play out wide, in the 10 role or in central midfield. Some believe he would be a top signing, while others do not.
The Sun claim he is rated at £63million.
