Liverpool legend explains why Derby County will beat Huddersfield Town

Former Liverpool captain Phil Thompson has predicted the final score of Derby County’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Huddersfield Town.

The Rams will be looking to get back to winning ways when they face the Terriers at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday.

Phillip Cocu’s side suffered a 3-2 defeat to Bristol City on Wednesday night, and are now 10 points adrift of the play-off places in 13th place, with 14 league matches left to play.

For Huddersfield, they suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Cardiff City in their last match, and are just five points above the relegation zone in 20th place.

Former Nottingham Forest midfielder David Prutton has already made his prediction for the match, tipping the Rams to secure a 3-1 win over the Terriers.

Now Thompson, who made 416 appearances for Liverpool, has made his prediction and thinks Derby will secure a 3-0 win on Saturday.

"Huddersfield are so hit-and-miss, showing little consistency which has made up the story of their campaign,” said Thompson.

“Derby should be looking at this to get back on track."
