B&M shoppers have been able to snap up Yankee Candles at a bargain price

Bargain 50p Yankee Candles being sold at B&M - but there's a catch

The bargain store usually sells the product for £15 each, meaning the saving is a huge 97 per cent

Shoppers are excited about bargain 50p Yankee Candles down from £15 at B&M.

The Red Raspberry candles were discounted in the store, and an eagle-eyed bargain-hunter took to the internet to share photos of the four she managed grab while they were on sale.

The woman revealed she managed to get the bargain from her local branch in Cornwall after spotting the deal using the B&M app.

The B&M app allows customers to nab huge discounts on products that cost less than their labels states.

Posting the find on popular Facebook group B&M Bargains and More, the delighted shopper told how her raspberry-scented candles smell “amazing”.

The bargain saving, a whopping 97 per cent off the usual price, had candle fans and bargain hunters excited.

One person responded: “Will look for these tomorrow," while another congratulated her: “Good for you!! Great bargain!”

Not everyone was so lucky however, and some reported back to explain how they didn't get the same discount.

One said: “I paid 6 pounds today.”

Someone wrote : “I use the scanner all the time, I look for the same item with different barcodes and when I get something that won't scan and go to buy it it's full price. Never discounted.”

Another "gutted" user said: “Been in Crewe store today. Not one single bargain on app actually went in to buy loads came out with 2 full price items. Gutted.”

According to B&M, discounts found using the app vary between stores, so the bargains are not guaranteed store to store.

The retailer told the Daily Mirror: "B&M has thousands of items the barcode scanner app which works great for seasonal and end of lines which have been reduced but not yet marked down on display."

Yankee’s Red Raspberry candle usually costs £23.99 for a large, £19.99 for a medium, and £8.99 for a small.

The company has an array of candles on offer, and have even branched out into florally scents in time for Valentine's Day.

Blush Bouquet costs £23.99 on the website and is described as: “Welcoming pink peonies, lilies and citrus blossoms in a bespoke bouquet fit for the centre of the table.”
