Woman, 22, arrested after alleged assault in Welsh town centre leaves middle aged man in hospital

by Robert HarriesA woman has been arrested after a man was hospitalised following an alleged serious assault in mid Wales.
The incident happened in the centre of Aberystwyth on a Saturday night earlier this month.
A 59-year-old man was allegedly attacked at the corner of Upper Portland Street and Terrace Road.
He was taken to hospital after sustaining “serious injuries”, and police are now appealing for information regarding the incident.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a suspected assault in Aberystwyth on February 1.
“A 59-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
“The incident occurred at around 9.30pm on the corner of Upper Portland Street and Terrace Road.
“Police are aware there were a number of people in the vicinity at the time of the incident and would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or may have information that could help the investigation.”
A 22-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm in connection with the incident and released under investigation.
