After Gabadinho Mhango scooped the monthly award for the first time this season, Soccer Laduma takes a look at the rest of the award recipients so far.

The Malawian international was deservedly named the Absa Premiership Player of the Month for January yesterday, after his stellar form helped Orlando Pirates to one draw and four straight wins out of five fixtures played.

But who else has picked up the Absa Premiership award so far this season?

August 2019:

Bradley Grobler was the first player to be rewarded for his form this 2019/20 campaign for SuperSport United, after he got his season off to a great start in August, scoring four goals in three games in a row. 

September/October 2019:

Kaizer Chiefs’ current number one shot-stopper in Daniel Akpeyi, thereafter picked up the second award for both September and October, hugely contributing to where Amakhosi find themselves right now – at the top of the log. 

November 2019:

In November, another SuperSport player scooped the award, with Sipho Mbule’s form catching the eye of the judging panel. 

December 2019:

Bidvest Wits’ Gift Motupa, whose form caught the eye of Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the transfer window, scooped the Absa Premiership award in December last year after being integral to the Students’ run at the end of the year.
