Ouachita Parish teacher arrested, accused of hitting 7-year-old student
by KNOEOUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A Ouachita Parish teacher was arrested after an alleged incident at school.
According to records filed with the 4th Judicial Court, Brandy Bostick, 31, is accused of hitting a 7-year-old male student on Feb. 12, 2020. The incident happened at Woodlawn Elementary School on Jonesboro Road, according to those documents.
Records state that Bostick, a second grade teacher, became upset with the boy and hit him in the back of the head with an open hand. They say the child later reported to his mother that he had ringing in his ears and had a headache.
Records further state that the boy also told his mother that Bostick hit him on two other occasions in the days prior, once with a rolled piece of paper and once with a manila style testing folder.
Bostick was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on a charge of cruelty to juveniles, a felony.
Todd Guice, Ouachita Parish School Board personnel director, confirmed that there was an investigation into a teacher at Woodlawn, but wouldn't identify the teacher.
