Juventus midfielder Federico Bernardeschi feels unsettled at Turin after his lack of game time under Maurizio Sarri and wishes to move to Barca for more game time.

Juventus signed Federico Bernardeschi in the summer of 2017 from their arch-rivals Fiorentina for a sum of 40million euros on a five-year contract. The Italian winger made his debut for the Old Lady on 13th of August 2017 against Lazio in the 2017 Supercoppa Italiana, the match however ended in favour of Lazio.

The former Fiorentina player’s debut season with Juventus turned out to be quite a success as Bernardeschi scored 4 goals and made 6 assists in 22 matches in the Seria A. Juventus also won their seventh consecutive scudetto in 2017-18 season and the club also won the Copa Italia. Federico ended his debut season with two collective titles to his name.

The following 2018-19 season was also a success for the Italian international, although in terms of statistics his figures were not all that impressive as he managed to score only 2 goals and provide 3 assists in 28 matches in the Seria A. However, statistics do not prove the Italian internationals worth.

In the 2018-19 season, Federico Bernardeschi was all over the field and he always put in a good shift. One of his most impressive performances was against Atletico Madrid in the second leg at home. Although Cristiano Ronaldo stole all the limelight for his sublime hattrick, it was Federico Bernardeschi that run the show at Turin that night.

However, this season the talismanic Italian winger has barely gotten any game time under new coach Maurizio Sarri. The Italian winger has played 16 games so far in the Seria A with zero goals or assists, unfortunately, most of his minutes have come from the bench so far.
Lack of game time and losing his place to either Dybala, Higuain or Douglas Costa has made Federico Bernardeschi feel unsettled and unhappy at Turin.

The versatile attacking midfielder believes that Barcelona would be the right club for him and has sent his agent to Barcelona to negotiate a deal, according to Don Balon. The Blaugrana have kept an eye on the young Italian international ever since his phenomenal performance against Barcelona in a preseason game in 2015.

Currently, Quique Setien is in deep waters as he is short of players in the final third after losing out Ousmane Dembélé and Luis Suarez. Quique Setien could look opt for Federico Bernardeschi as a replacement for Ousmane Dembélé.

The former Fiorentina midfielder is pacey, nimble-footed, skillful and always puts in a good shift every time he sets foot on the field. His dribbling ability along with his eye for a goal makes him one of Seria A’s most exciting talents. Federico flourishes under the 4-3-3 system when deployed on either side of the wing, with his ability to cut inside from the flanks and take a shot on goal or even link up with the midfielders to slow down the tempo of the game, Bernardeschi could be the versatile player Setien requires.

According to Don Balon, it is rumoured that Federico Bernardeschi is valued at 40 million euros.

Should Barcelona pay Juventus 40 million euros for Federico Bernardeschi or should they go for another player instead?
