Journalist survives horrific crash
by Simbarashe SitholeFreelance journalist Tarisai Mudahondo survived a fatal accident that claimed seven people outside Kwekwe on Monday.
Mudahondo was among the Zimbabwe United Passengers Company (ZUPCO) passengers when the accident occurred.
Speaking from her Kwekwe home she said she cheated death and could not stand watching blood stained corpses.
"I was in the bus when l suddenly saw the bus veering off the road trying to avoid a head on crash with a Honda fit that had encroached into the Harare -bound bus's lane,"said Mudahondo.
"The bus hit the fit, vendors and another kombi before uprooting a tree, it was so horrible as a lot of people were seriously injured and some died on the spot it was so disturbing to see blood all over the place and blood on dead bodies."
The journalist said she lost her belongings before being rushed to Kwekwe general hospital where she was admitted for two days.
"I lost most of my belongs soon after being rushed to the hospital where l was admitted for two days l was stitched on my leg and currently suffering chest pains the doctors said it was due to impact but on x-ray they said it is not affected."
Meanwhile, ZUPCO buses have been heavily involved in fatal road accidents.
